Tidewater Inc., a marine services provider specializing in support vessels for the offshore wind industry, has successfully finalized its acquisition of 37 platform supply vessels and associated assets from Solstad Offshore ASA, a Norwegian company engaged in offshore service and supply shipping.
With this acquisition, Tidewater now possesses the largest fleet of high-specification platform supply vessels in the world, solidifying its leadership position in the industry. Quintin Kneen, President and CEO of Tidewater, expressed his satisfaction with the deal, emphasizing the significant enhancement these vessels bring to their existing fleet of platform supply vessels. Moreover, this acquisition has propelled Tidewater to possess the world’s largest hybrid offshore supply vessel (OSV) fleet, consisting of 14 battery hybrid vessels and 2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) capable vessels.
