The launch event was graced by the presence of Shri Shyam Jagannathan, Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
Designed and built entirely in India, the Ocean Crewzer VI is compliant with the stringent High-Speed Craft (HSC) Code 2000 and was completed in a record six months. The vessel not only highlights SHM Shipcare’s engineering excellence but also underscores the success of the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative within the maritime sector.
Shri Jagannathan, during the event, praised the SHM Shipcare team for their speed, precision, and commitment to quality. “Today’s launch is more than just the addition of a new vessel—it is a strong signal of India’s technical prowess in modern shipbuilding,” he said. “This launch reaffirms our resolve to build a self-reliant maritime future. The keel laying tradition, a significant naval milestone, symbolically blesses the shipbuilding process and brings good fortune to the upcoming project.
SHM Shipcare’s Chairman and Managing Director, along with senior engineers and shipyard staff, expressed their gratitude for the support from the Directorate General of Shipping and reiterated their commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, safety, and innovation.
