Ship Recycling Association Partners with Shieldskill to Transform Worker Safety Training at Alang

The Ship Recycling Industries Association (India), the driving force behind the world’s largest ship recycling yard, has joined hands with Shieldskill Institute Pvt. Ltd. and Leela Group of Ship Recycling Yards to launch a pioneering on-site training initiative aimed at raising safety, sustainability, and innovation standards across the industry.
In a landmark move, the collaboration introduces site-specific, real-world training programs designed to upskill workers directly at their place of work. Shieldskill’s mobile training model eliminates the need for costly off-site programs, offering a practical and efficient solution for the sector’s evolving safety demands.

The training modules include work-at-height and confined space rescue, hot work safety, lifting and rigging, and crane operation safety. These programs are tailored to the specific operational needs of each yard, ensuring maximum relevance and impact. Additionally, Shieldskill offers safety audits to help companies enhance their safety management systems.
